The Mustang is part of America's heritage, plain and simple. The BLM is rounding them up and sending them off to slaughter, why? Because the Mustangs are eating too much grass that could go towards feeding cattle. All of a sudden, the Mustang has gone from being a symbol of freedom, to being a nuisance. What complete and total garbage. The Mustangs are overpopulated? Funny, they have thousands upon thousands of acres to roam on, and yet, the wild ponies of chiconteague are on an island that is 7 miles long and 1.5 miles wide and their numbers are managed quite well. But the chiconteague ponies don't have to worry about greedy cattlemen either.
The American Mustang is sharing the same fate of the Native Americans, being run off their own land by greedy people. Has America learned nothing from history?
The Native American tribes of Arizona have agreed to allow Mustangs to run free on their land. Just one of the tribes has 30 thousand acres. This offer was made 5 years ago and as far as I know, the offer still stands. Nobody has taken them up on it. Doesn't look like the BLM is truly looking for a solution for the Mustangs, does it?

Common for people wherever they are, isn't it? I've recently been reading about the brumby plight in Australia in Michael Keenan's book - in search of a wild brumby.
