Everyone tells you that you will lose your hair. What they DON'T tell you is that you lose ALL of it, everywhere. I had no eyelashes or eyebrows either. That takes a long time to deal with.
Chemo is horrible. On my first day, I was lead into a room filled with really sick people. I told the nurse that I think she made a mistake because this was the room for sick people, she laughed and said she was sure. I took a seat in this uncomfortable chair and the nurse started setting up my "Chemo Kit". I saw the IV bags and the needles and I began to cry, it had just become real.
Chemo didn't make me throw up, but it made me so fatigued all the time, all I did was sleep. My hair began to fall out and I went up to great clips and they shaved my head for free. That was hard, I had hair down to the middle of my back. I had to see a cardiologist every two weeks because the chemo I was getting can cause damage to your heart. Luckily, Mine was ok.
I did chemo every week for 5 weeks, then every two weeks, then every three weeks. Finally, at the beginning of December, I finished my chemo treatments!
It is now March of the following year and I am still suffering from Fatigue.
